A non-partisan civic movement · est. 2026

We pay the taxes.
We build the GDP.
We deserve answers.

We are India's salaried 9-to-5. We pay 30% slab tax, 18% GST on a coffee, and still wait two hours on a road we already paid for. This is a movement, not a complaint.

No political party. No personal attacks. Just receipts, real demands, and the people who pay for everything.

Chapter One / who we are

The system has a word for us. We made it a movement.

What we are

  • A citizens' platform, not a registered political party.
  • Built by the salaried 9-to-5, for everyone who pays into the system.
  • Policy first. Memes second. Hate, zero.
  • Every demand backed by public data. Every source cited.
  • An open citizens' voice portal — concerns and anonymous bribe reports, all in one place.

What we are not

  • Not pro any ruling party. Not pro any opposition.
  • Not anti-business. We are the workforce.
  • Not a hate campaign. No personal attacks, no communal angle.
  • Not a meme page pretending to be a movement.
  • Not asking for handouts — asking for the service our taxes already paid for.
Chapter Two · The Manifesto / the 7 demands

7 real demands. Every one a policy, not a slogan.

Constructive, costed, internationally benchmarked asks directed at Parliament, RBI, CBDT, state governments and municipal bodies — not at any political party.

  1. 01

Index income-tax slabs & standard deduction to inflation

Slabs and the standard deduction should auto-revise with CPI every year — like Germany's Inflationsausgleichsgesetz cold-progression adjustment.

German Federal Ministry of Finance · Outlook 2026
  2. 02

Publish a "Where did my tax go?" dashboard

A live, line-item public dashboard mapping every rupee of personal income tax to actual outcomes — roads, beds, scholarships. UK's HMRC sends every taxpayer a plain-English Annual Tax Summary.

  3. 03

Enforce a 48-hour weekly cap with a guaranteed weekly off

Bring IT/ITES, fintech and start-ups under uniform working-hour protection — modelled on South Korea's 52-hour cap and France's statutory rest provisions. 72% of Indian employees already cross 48 hours.

    Moneycontrol · ADP 2025 · Economic Survey 2025
  4. 04

Mandatory 30-day public consultation before any tax/cess hike

Any new cess, surcharge or GST-rate change above a threshold must be open to public comment for 30 days — like the US Federal Register's notice-and-comment process.

    US Federal Register Act, 5 U.S.C. § 553
  5. 05

Urban liveability bond — potholes, AQI, commute

Tie a portion of each city's personal-income-tax contribution to a measurable liveability index. Tokyo and Singapore publish ward-level service KPIs every quarter.

Singapore MOM · Tokyo Metropolitan Open Data
  6. 06

Health insurance & EPF portability with 7-day settlement

Job-change should not break health cover or freeze provident fund. Singapore's CPF processes most transfers in 3 working days. India's 2-3 month EPF window is a tax on mobility.

CPF Board, Singapore · EPFO Annual Report 2024-25
  7. 07

Enforce the Whistleblower Protection Act + a public bribe registry

India passed the Whistleblower Protection Act in 2014 — rules are still unfinalised. Operationalise it, and create an anonymised bribe-report registry on the ipaidabribe.com civic model.

Chapter Three · The Number / one statistic. fully sourced.

The number that explains the whole movement.

OUT OF 140+ CRORE INDIANS
< 7 Cr
file an income-tax return.

That's under 5% of the country. Of those, the salaried 9-to-5 carries the bulk — and personal income tax has now overtaken corporate tax as India's largest direct-tax stream.

We are not asking for sympathy. We are asking for the road, the metro, the hospital bed, and the air quality we already paid for.

Chapter Four · The World / how the world does it

We're not asking for the moon. We're asking for Tuesday in Tokyo.

Benchmarking, not bashing. India can learn from the best practices that worked elsewhere.

Why this matters: none of these reforms require attacking any political party. They are operational upgrades. Many are already on Indian government internal wish-lists.
